This is definitely this season’s must watch.
Summary:
- Episode 2 of Dungeon Meshi has just been released.
- The humor in the series is precious.
- Senshi is the real star of the show.
Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) has been spoiling us this season because of how absolutely hilarious and yet somehow educational it is. No wonder, there’s this much hype about a cooking anime. And we’d like to add even more hype to it.
Monsters can be delicious
Dungeon Meshi follows a group of explorers on a mission to save one of their members, Falin, who became a victim of a dragon. To survive in a dungeon, they decide to eat monsters, and a peculiar dwarf named Senshi becomes their companion and the best cooking teacher ever.
Speaking of Senshi… This dwarf is the real star of Dungeon Meshi. He might look like a simple comic relief at first, but there’s much more to him. The humorous parts are there, don’t get us wrong, but he’s also shown to be a very kind and caring person.
The way he compliments Marcille and Chilchuck for their well-done jobs is just adorable. Him showing appreciation to these two is the sweetest part of the episode. We have a feeling that he’ll truly become the one to make the bonds within the party even deeper.
The humor is top-notch
But getting back to the humor, we can’t ignore how absolutely hilarious everything about Senshi is. His appearance alone is enough to make you giggle, and the mad and determined look on his face every time there’s a new monster to cook is to die for.
Marcille’s absolute disgust at the idea of cooking monsters goes well with Senshi’s excitement; their interactions are highly entertaining. The way Marcille keeps saying she doesn’t want to eat hideous creatures, then proceeds to eat them and praise Senshi’s cooking is priceless.
Can we also talk about Basilisk, please? We won’t be lying, when we first heard its name, we thought of something frightening like a Harry Potter monster, and we got a funny chicken mixed with a snake.
There are more reasons for Harry Potter fans to get excited about the second episode of Dungeon Meshi, though. Our characters are cooking a mandrake, after all! We wonder what it would taste like.
The only bad thing about Dungeon Meshi for now is how hungry it makes you feel every time you watch it. So don’t repeat our mistakes, and get some snacks before you start watching an episode.
