Has My Hero Academia Adaptation Become Soulless?

Has My Hero Academia Adaptation Become Soulless?

Why is everyone upset again?

Summary:

  • Season 7 trailer for My Hero Academia got fans thinking about the anime adaptation quality.
  • Manga has more attention to detail than anime.
  • Fans suggest that Bones is not as passionate about the series anymore.

The release of a new trailer for My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) Season 7 was meant to be a happy event. And it was. Like, for a second before X (formerly Twitter) users started discussing the animation and the overall state of the series.

It’s not as good as the manga

The My Hero Academia anime series has been around for many years and has become one of the most famous anime in the world. It’s no Naruto or One Piece, as some might say, but we can’t deny that it has become truly big and it has acquired a huge fanbase over time. The series has had its rises and falls, but Seasons 1-4 are mostly praised by fans due to their high quality.

There are different manga, and while some have questionable art style and look 10 times better when animated, some are exceptionally good. Fans claim My Hero Academia is one of the latter and they believe it is an incredibly drawn manga. That’s why it’s difficult to get it adapted into an anime and keep the quality to the same level. However, the first four seasons managed to do that.

Seasons 5 and 6, however, are considered rather questionable by fans, who noticed a decrease in quality back when they were airing. And now that Season 7 is coming, the worries are back, and fans are unsure about the final product.

While some are super hyped because of the trailer, some are putting numerous manga panels next to the trailer frames, stating that the adaptation stands no comparison to the original source. The sky looks bleak, there’s no attention to detail, the picture and the backgrounds are boring. It’s like Bones is not excited about their own project anymore, and they don’t even bother to put any heart into it.

There’s no soul in the adaptation anymore

Which is quite puzzling for the fans, since My Hero Academia is exactly the project that keeps the studio famous and brings them more and more profit every year. The series is immensely popular and has a huge fanbase. A number of people suggest that Bones just don’t feel so passionate about My Hero Academia anymore. And if this is the case, the studio should just drop the series.

Because for now it looks more like Bones keeps going with MHA just for the sake of making money to support their other projects. And fans are not satisfied with that. They want to see the true soul behind the adaptation and remember why the series became so dear to them back in the day.
