The first episode introduces us to Soujirou and other important characters.
First impressions are mostly positive, but it’s still too early to say more.
While some people were waiting for January to see what 2024 would bring them and to have a new start in their lives, yours truly were hyped for all the new anime coming out this month. And Ishura was definitely on our watch list.
First episode is out
Ishura starts off with Yuno being rather positive about the world now that the Demon King is dead, but it’s like the anime tells you “not on my watch” and a mere moment of excitement ends when an army of robots starts destroying everything and everyone they see on their way.
Unfortunately, Yuno’s friend is one of the victims. Such a brutal scene, by the way, you should definitely not be watching Ishura with your younger siblings.
Right when Yuno thinks that it’s time for her to die as well, Soujirou appears to save the day and make us hyped up because of how badass he is. And hearing Yuki Kaji’s voice makes the entire thing twice as good, if you ask us.
First impressions
To be honest, the first episode of Ishura is not much to work with, but fans wouldn’t be themselves if they didn’t have any comments.
Although it’s still unclear how the main story will unfold, we can already expect a lot of action in the series. Fans have already noticed the CGI during the fight sequence of the first episode, of course, but they mention that it didn’t bother them that much. After all, CGI goes well with robots.
As light novel and manga readers previously mentioned, Ishura will include multiple protagonists, not just Soujirou, and the series introduces them in its first episode. Fans compare Yuno’s introduction of them to a game by FromSoftware, and we have to be honest, they do look like candidates for an awesome boss fight.
Gore is also present in Ishura. The aforementioned scene with Yuno’s friend will haunt some in their nightmares. And we’re sure there is more to come. Ishura seems to be a series that’s not afraid to be dark, and we consider it a good thing.
There’s not much to say about the plot yet, and fans say that it’s still too early to draw any conclusions. They need more time to understand if Ishura is worth watching, so let’s just wait a few more episodes to see where the story will lead us.
Readers ask us to give Ishura a chance and keep watching, since the first episode was just a small glimpse into the series. And we’ll gladly follow their advice.
And we’re excited to see more.
