Ishura Reveals the Main Trailer, and It Looks Incredible

Good reason to be waiting for January.

Summary:

  • Ishura is an upcoming action fantasy anime scheduled for January 3.
  • The main trailer has been released.
  • The animation looks great, and fans are hyped for the premiere.

With its January 3 premiere, Ishura is just around the corner, and we’re getting more and more presents. Best holidays ever?

Ishura is an action fantasy anime series based on the light novel series written by Keiso. It explores the world where the Demon King has died, and his death created some sort of a power vacuum in the world.

No one really knows who the hero that defeated the powerful King is, and a number of demigods are now fighting for the right to be this True Hero in a peculiar battle royale. Sounds like a great premise for an action packed series, if you ask us.

Main trailer is out

The main trailer for Ishura has been revealed, and it is a perfect proof for our “action packed” statement. Almost every second of the video is full of fighting, magic and supernatural creatures. How cool is the skeleton man looking, though? Favorite character alert! Fans joke that he looks like Ainz Ooal Gown from the Overlord series, and we have to admit that we see the resemblance, too.

Fans previously mentioned that Ishura is not a type of series with a proper protagonist, it follows a number of characters (the aforementioned demigods) and the viewer chooses the one to side with. But Sojiro the Willow-Sword and Shalk the Sound Slicer (the skeleton man) seem to steal the show for now. We swear, it has nothing to do with the fact that Sojiro is voiced by Yuki Kaji, Eren Yeager himself.

It’s beautiful

The animation in the trailer looks spectacular, which is a pretty crucial thing for an action-packed series, and all the battle sequences have all the chances to become eye candies. Of course a trailer can never show the full scale and potential of a series, but everything looks very promising.

We have nothing negative to say about the art style, either. And to be honest, we don’t want to be negative towards Ishura because the anime really does seem curious, and the new trailer makes us even more hyped for the upcoming premiere. Although the character design isn’t super original, and you have a feeling that it reminds you of another series, it’s not a bad thing at all.

Ishura will stream on Hulu for the US, and on Disney+ for the rest of the world, and we hope the choice of streaming platforms will not affect the premiere in a negative way. Right now we’re just super hyped for January 3rd and are really looking forward to finally experiencing Ishura.
