When will the suffering end?
Major Chapter 254 spoilers ahead!
Summary:
- Chapter 254 leaks are out.
- The chapter features the battle between Sukuna and Kusakabe.
- As expected, Kusakabe loses and presumably dies.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 254 is scheduled for March 24, 2024, but the leakers work much faster than that, so we’ve already got some ideas about it. From what it looks like, Kusakabe will become the star of the chapter.
In the previous chapter, number 253, there was a flashback of Mei Mei, Gojo, and Nanami discussing the strongest Grade 1 sorcerer and agreeing that Kusakabe was the one. Or, in other words, they were hyping the battle between Kusakabe and Sukuna up.
The new leaks don’t bring any surprises: there’s indeed a fight between these two.
Kusakabe vs Sukuna fight
Kusakabe uses New Shadow Style Simple Domain, since Sukuna’s technique will be weakened inside of it. Sukuna is surprised by it because he can send slashes towards his opponents, which he does. However, Kusakabe manages to fight back all of them.
Their encounter starts in a rather positive way: Kusakabe is able to read Sukuna’s movements by focusing on his cursed energy, motion and his own intuition. However, this is Sukuna we’re talking about, so he surprises Kusakabe with another set of slashes, which almost hit Kusakabe.
We’re also going to see Mei Mei, Gojo, and Nanami again in the upcoming chapter. And yes, they’re praising Kusakabe one more time. If you’re an experienced Jujutsu Kaisen manga reader, you may see where this is going already, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
The fight seems very intense, and Kusakabe manages to successfully attack Sukuna before his katana breaks. However, even this doesn’t stop him, and he proceeds with his fists and kicks. He then uses the Hazy Moon technique that allows him to form an aura in the shape of the broken part of his katana and tries to attack Sukuna once again.
And this is where the thing we all expected happens: Sukuna stops the attack by using just two of his fingers, and the next thing you see is Kusakabe lying on the ground with his chest slashed. Gojo moment, if you ask us.
Enter Ui Ui, who’s trying to save Kusakabe, but is stopped by Sukuna. He is very irritated by the boy and is meaning to kill him. However, Miguel appears to save him, and this is where the chapter ends.
No one is surprised
Manga readers are not even surprised anymore by such an outcome of the Kusakabe vs Sukuna fight. The entire final battle with Sukuna just feels like a parade of pointless deaths, and fans predicted Kusakabe’s loss back when they saw the “me versus Sukuna” part in Chapter 253.
They’re once again irritated by the fact that a character is basically killed off-screen, and they wonder if Ui Ui and Miguel will be the next meaningless victim.
