It’s not going to work, though.
Summary:
- Jujutsu Kaisen leaks have become a major issue in the fandom.
- An official JJK Exhibition X account asked fans to stop the leaks.
- There’s hardly a way to stop the leaks from happening.
Jujutsu Kaisen leaks have become such an inseparable part of the fandom experience that we can’t even imagine what it would be like if manga readers weren’t discussing them once a week.
While hundreds of fans are eagerly discussing and having fun with all the new screenshots, pictures and manga frames days before the official release, a big part of the fandom is fuming. They feel that leaks ruin the experience and should be gone for good.
Leaks are out of hand
The leaks situation has gotten so out of control that leakers started getting arrested a month ago, which frightened a lot of people. They realized it wasn’t a funny game anymore, and legal consequences might follow.
Jujutsu Kaisen is indeed one of the manga fandoms, where the leaks are a major issue. However, before the arrests happened, there wasn’t really much official acknowledgment of the leaks. But it’s getting out of hand.
Fans are asked to stop
The official X (formerly Twitter) Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition account made a post about the upcoming details of the exhibition in the 15th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump, which will be released on March 11, 2024. However, this is not the part that caught fans’ attention.
The account ended their message with a peculiar request: they asked fans to prevent the spreading of illegally shared content before its official release. Seeing such a message from an official source is something that doesn’t happen often, which makes fans think that the companies are getting really tired of leaks.
One of the most famous Jujutsu Kaisen X leakers has already posted some screenshots of their direct messages that include violent threats, which means the official message worked, but perhaps not the way it was intended.
However, the saddest part is that no matter what the official sources say, it will hardly make any difference. Fans really love the leaks, and they’ve become just another part of the experience, an interesting ritual that unites a certain part of the fandom.
On top of that, Jujutsu Kaisen is an immensely popular manga, and posts about it get a lot of traction, so leakers are ready to take risks even if they keep receiving threats.
All of that makes fans very upset and even irritated, they think the author and the publishers should be respected, especially now that they’re asking for it directly. But the best way to prevent the leaks from happening is to stop interacting with them. Which is, unfortunately, a thing that will never happen.
