New Gojo Art

A new manga Volume 26 art was released last week, and it features Satoru Gojo. There’s only a small part of his body visible, but it’s enough to understand a few things.

It looks like he’s lying on the ground, and the scene reminds fans of Gojo’s death scene from Chapter 236 a lot. The only difference is that Gojo’s eye is wide open in the art.

You may see where we’re going with this, and you’re absolutely right, the fandom thought it was a hint at Gojo’s comeback. Although his body was sliced in half and he was pronounced dead, readers can’t seem to believe that and expect him to return in each new chapter.

The new art made fans’ hope stronger than before, and this time they are absolutely confident: Gojo will return. They don’t know how or when, but they don’t care; they just want the strongest sorcerer to rejoin the fight.

Gojo’s Comeback Will Ruin the Story

No one wants Gojo to be alive as much as yours truly, but we have to understand that such a thing will affect the story tremendously. It was a major shock when Gojo died in the manga, and his sudden resurrection will render all of the impact meaningless.

Bringing a character back from the dead is one of the most annoying anime tropes, it completely erases all stakes and makes tear-jerking moments pointless. Losing Gojo was a big deal, it completely broke the hearts of so many fans, but bringing him back will ruin that effect.

If Gojo comes back, it’s natural to expect him to help finish off Sukuna. And knowing how strong the sorcerer is, we have a feeling that his strike will have a course-of-the-battle-changing effect.

Right now, it feels like Gojo is really the only one who can defeat Sukuna, since he’s exactly the miracle all the sorcerers need to happen. But that would also make the struggles of others meaningless.

Why did they have to fight so fiercely and lose so many people if all it would take is for Gojo to come back and settle this? It would just be unfair to other characters, and once again prove that they can’t do anything without their teacher.
