The battle between the two strongest Jujutsu Kaisen characters was meant to be epic, and Gege did not disappoint the fans. This manga provides a lot of stunning action sequences and great fights, but the one between Gojo and Sukuna has got to be the best the series has ever seen.
Nah, I’d win
It starts with Gojo discussing the possible outcome of such a confrontation, and although he admits that defeating Sukuna will not be an easy task, he ends with his confident “nah, I’d win”. A line that turned out to be a lie, and generated hundreds of memes in and outside the JJK fandom. At least one positive thing about Gojo’s death!
The entire fight lasts for multiple chapters, and each one of them makes you question the need for furniture in your house, since the edge of the seat is all you need. Gege executed the fight masterfully. The way he went back and forth with Sukuna or Gojo having the upper hand is phenomenal. One second it looks like Gojo is about to win, and the next he’s in a situation that would kill every other Jujutsu Kaisen character in the blink of an eye. Or Sukuna is on the verge of death only to prove himself the most powerful sorcerer a few moments later.

Although Sukuna is understandably stronger than Gojo, and you might have predicted his victory, we all know how skilled Gojo really is, and how high his battle IQ is. It’s one of the fights where you genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen. You may have predictions, yes. But you may also see both outcomes becoming true.
The only thing fans would want to change in the fight is its ending. They don’t think that Gojo needed to be disrespected like that. He had to die, and we understand that (although we disagree), but his reactions should’ve been better. Although a couple of fans mention that Gojo just thought that he was immune to Sukuna’s direct attacks, and this is what led to his death.
No matter how heartbreaking the outcome of the fight is, it’s still the greatest battle in Jujutsu Kaisen for now, and the feeling of reading it while it was still ongoing is unforgettable.
