It’s difficult not to fall in love with the main party in Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi). Each character has their own unique set of skills, each has an outstanding personality, and let’s be honest, all of them are just extremely likable.
But this is not just fans’ biased opinion based on the fact that they’ve been following these characters since Episode/Chapter 1. The story itself hints at the party’s experience a lot.

The party only had four members for the first half of the season: Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, and Senshi, and yet they managed to get further into the dungeon than other parties who have been knocked out by various monsters.
The series begins on the 6th floor of the dungeon, and this floor was previously considered the deepest part of it, also making it the most dangerous. And Laios’ party traveled there twice. Moreover, on their second visit, they managed to slay the Red Dragon and save Falin, which is also something truly impressive.
The Combination of Their Skills Is Very Powerful
It’s easy to forget how strong the main characters of Delicious in Dungeon really are due to how much humor there is in the series. But don’t let all the hilarious moments fool you: each of the team members is extremely skilled. Yes, even Laios, who’s more than dorky.
Manga readers say that it’s because most of the characters had great experience working with other parties before they came together. On top of that, they all died before, so they fully realize the dangers of the dungeon.
Laios might look odd most of the time, but his monster knowledge is on another level. It’s especially noticeable in comparison to other teams. And we can’t forget that he’s a pretty decent fighter, too.
Falin and Marcille are exceptional mages. Of course, Falin is a bit more skilled, but Marcille is also not a person to mess with. They both know a lot about magic and have proven themselves very useful both in battle and in healing.
Chilchuck has great trap dismantling skills and dexterity — there isn’t a door he can’t unlock, and there isn’t a mechanic he wouldn’t be able to understand.
Senshi is an incredible cook, but what’s more important is that he knows a lot about the ecosystem of the dungeon, which helped party members on various occasions.
Each character adds a unique skill to the party and makes it strong and almost unbeatable. They can work as a unit very masterfully, and it doesn’t matter that they’re quirky sometimes, they can be really powerful and effective when needed.
