What is Naomi’s secret anyway?
Episode 4 spoilers ahead!
Summary:
- Metallic Rouge Episode 4 has just aired.
- It raises even more questions about the series’ story.
- There’s a theory about Naomi also being a Nean.
Metallic Rouge has just released its Episode 4, and it was pretty intense. It surprised the viewers with an unexpected plot twist, gave us a couple of hints connected to the main duo, and added even more questions to an endless number of already existing ones.
We’ve already talked about Metallic Rouge’s story being confusing and providing little explanation to what is going on in the series, and, unfortunately, this complaint still stands.
Origins of the main duo
The discussion about the origins of Rouge has been going on since the release of the first episode of the anime, but the latest episode made fans pay more attention to Naomi as well.
The series was very careful while introducing the main duo, only stating that Rouge is a Nean and Naomi is just her partner. There was never any mention about her being a human, but fans naturally decided that she was one, since it hasn’t been stated otherwise. However, this might not be the case.
Is Naomi a Nean, too?
In the new episode, Jaron encounters Naomi and they have a small talk. He is trying to kill her, so the conversation wasn’t very informative, of course, but there’s still a small detail that deserves being noticed.
During the fight, Jaron implies that Naomi is not as simple as she’s trying to look, and he points at her neck as he says it. Some fans think it’s connected to the jewelry that she’s wearing, suggesting a possible significance of the item. Nevertheless, there’s also another theory. What if Naomi is also a Nean?
We know very little about her and her origins and we know that there are Neans that look just like humans. On top of that, Naomi has a peculiar bird that she uses to spy and gain intelligence, and fans think it would make a lot of sense if she was connected to the thing via her Nean abilities.
The anime is very cryptic so far, and each new episode only raises more questions about the story, characters and worldbuilding, so fans don’t really know what to expect.
Metallic Rouge needs to start giving us answers at some point, otherwise the entire thing ends up being even more confusing. Viewers say they don't mind this secretive approach for now, since it doesn’t prevent the series from being enjoyable.
Still, they can’t wait to have at least a couple of mysteries solved and are looking forward to learning more about the story, and especially about the main duo
