Fans speculate about sequels and reboots of beloved franchises.
One of the most possible options seems to be Noragami.
Studio Bones is famous for a lot of works, so any announcement from them stirs up heated discussions. Just now the studio told us that it will announce a new anime project at Anime NYC, which will take place on November 17th, and fans started speculating. There are a lot of shows that were created by Bones before that we carry deep in our hearts, and these shows need continuation, so hopes are high.
Hard to choose
A lot of people think that it may do something with Ouran High School Host Club (Ouran Koukou Host Club), as the show begs for a continuation, and the manga has a lot of material to adapt. Sure, the first season of the anime was released 16 years ago, but we did see some long-awaited comebacks this year (namely: Bleach), and the idea doesn't seem impossible.
Another contender is Soul Eater: Brotherhood — that's how the fans named the potential remake of the show that would get a similar treatment as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. There were rumors about the show being remade around a decade ago, and the fans' passion for the show is still strong. One notable thing is that next year marks the 20th anniversary of the manga.
Some wish that Bones would announce the movie Bungo Stray Dogs: Stormbringer, an adaptation of the 8th volume of the light novel of the same name. It's a huge arc, filled with lots of action and twists that deserves a really good treatment.
Fans of ONE's works hope that it will be either the adaptation of Reigen manga, a spin-off of Mob Psycho 100 story concentrating on the events happening sometime later, or the third season of One Punch Man. A lot of animators worked both on the first season of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100, and their treatment of ONE's works left the fans willing for more.
Remember: it's Avex Pictures
All these predictions, however, leave out one important bit of information. The announcement will happen during the Avex Pictures panel that will feature Bones, so it's safe to say that the project will be tied to Avex Works. And all the shows mentioned above have nothing to do with Avex.
But there is one that fits the description: it's Noragami. The first and second seasons of this show were the last time Avex was a producer of one of Bones' works, and now, with the manga nearing its end, the anime adaptation would feel very fitting. The only thing that makes us doubt it is that the anime announcements for Noragami came from the manga.
Then again, it can be a completely new project that is not tied to any of the previous Bones' works. But we still have hope that the journey of Yato will be fully animated.
So many options!
