Pucci Is One Of The Best JJBA Villains, And Here’s Why

Powerful villain who doesn’t even realize that he’s a villain.

Spoilers ahead!

Hirohiko Araki is a master at creating interesting and well-developed characters. His villains get better with every chapter of JJBA, but we will point out Enrico Pucci — the main villain of the JJBA Stone Ocean, which recently became fully animated and caught the attention of many fans.

What a wonderful world… Pucci achieved his goals in comparison to the other villains. He reached Heaven, people met their fate, and everything ended with the restart of the Universe. But how did he do it? Pucci was a kind man who became a fanatic after meeting DIO and learning about his plans of reaching Heaven — to know and accept his destiny.

Pucci and DIO had the same goals, but different ways to achieve them. It made Pucci believe in DIO and become his protege. Later, he became a priest, as he wanted, and began to carry out his plan. Pucci didn’t care about others, the plan was in the first place, but Jolyne Kujo started to interrupt him. He confronted her, but still he was executing the plan.

Pucci even upgraded his stands. From White Snake, which had its own consciousness and depicted Pucci’s inner anger and hatred, to C-Moon, which controlled gravity and was made from DIO’s bone, and finally to Made in Heaven, which accelerated time through gravity and affected the entire Universe.

To sum up, Pucci did everything to achieve his goal, he didn’t care about others, evolved his stands — it makes him a purposeful person. But most importantly — he didn’t even realize he was evil. Pucci thought about higher goals — to help people see their fate and to accept it, rather than dealing with it when the time comes and being unprepared. Yes, he killed many people in his way, he became a fanatic, but still he thought he was doing the right thing. He didn’t even want to kill Joestars and friends, they simply were in his way. Pucci is a great example of a well-developed and well-written character with an original backstory and convincing motives, which also proves that Araki would never disappoint his readers by including blank characters.
