Who would have thought that a Jujutsu Kaisen pairing could be accepted well by the fandom? Sounds like straight-up fiction. Yet, Sukuna and Uraume feel like this type of a fan ship. But why?
The main reason for this is that there hasn’t been much of them in the anime adaptation yet. Despite Uraume making their first appearance back in Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen (Episode 21), a lot of anime-onlys completely missed that and would go “who?” when they hear Uraume’s name. Still, the character is in the series.

There’s a lot of mystery surrounding this character. Even Uraume’s gender is unknown, but a lot of fans consider this character a woman. The anime adaptation cast a female actress to play this role. So we think it’ll be safe to switch to female pronouns from now on.

They suit each other very well, and thinking that Sukuna can genuinely care for someone does things to fans’ hearts. Some say that the best ships are those who are toxic to everyone except each other.
There are a lot of Jujutsu Kaisen ships that feel problematic (like shipping Gojo with one of his students, for example) or forced (like Megumi and Hana), and we all know how shounens like to make their heroes end up with random partners at the end.
