Back when we saw the first couple of trailers for Tadaima, Okaeri, it was obvious that the series would be the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. And now that two episodes of the anime are out, we can say it with certainty: Tadaima, Okaeri is nothing but wholesome.
Good Portrayal of Marriage
We can talk for ages about how cute the series and especially young Hikari are, but the thing that has made fans happiest is how great the relationship between the main leads, Masaki and Hiromu, is.
They do look like a normal young married couple: they sleep in the same bed, they spend time together, they cook, they clean, they bathe their son, they show affection and care about each other.
These are the small things that we usually consider boring when it comes to anime series, but Tadaima, Okaeri manages to turn them into a very enjoyable experience. You don’t even need conflicts or plot twists, it’s just really entertaining to follow the everyday life of Mr. and Mr. Fujiyoshi and their son.
BL fans have been dreaming of such a series for ages, and they find it odd that an omegaverse anime is the answer to their prayers.
Omegaverse Aspects
Omegaverse is quite a controversial topic, as many fans associate it with something inherently sexual or just straight-out weird. That’s why there were various concerns about Tadaima, Okaeri and the way the series would explore this theme.
As it turns out, we needn’t have worried. The anime doesn’t forget that it’s an omegaverse one, but it doesn’t ruin the experience for those who prefer to stay away from alphas and omegas even in fanfiction.
A number of fans cannot even stand the idea of reading or watching anything about heats and ruts and mating, but Tadaima, Okaeri proves that it can be a rather chill topic.
Masaki goes into heat in Episode 2, but there was nothing weird or sexual about it. On the contrary, the anime managed to turn it into absolute cuteness when Hikari had to learn how to treat his dad during a difficult moment.
Fans genuinely hope that Tadaima, Okaeri will keep choosing the wholesome route in the future. They don’t need any drama and seriousness, they just want to follow the most adorable BL family they’ve seen for years.
