Tadaima, Okaeri is an upcoming boys love omegaverse anime series by Studio Deen, scheduled for April 9, 2024. It will follow a family of two men, an alpha and an omega, and their son Hikari. They move to an area more suitable for raising kids, and with the new residence come new struggles and issues.
Since it’s less than a month before the release of the anime, the series is blessing us with more content. All the previous visuals and teasers fulfilled their duty and charmed the fans, and now it’s time to check out a new trailer.

The new trailer is just like all the previously released materials — completely adorable and absolutely endearing. It’s full of cute children and romantic confessions. You can feel the love and wholesomeness radiating from your screen.
The trailer also introduces new cast members. It includes Shintarou Asanuma (Given, Tokyo Ghoul) as Aoto Mochizuki, Toshiki Masuda (My Hero Academia, Haikyuu) as Yuuto Matsuo, Kazuyuki Okitsu (Mushoku Tensei, Metallic Rouge) as Shuuto Matsuo, and Kaede Hondo (Ya Boy Kongming, A Sign of Affection) as Michiru Mochizuki.
You can also see these characters on a new visual for the series, which proves that there will be more than just one adorable family in the anime.
Tadaima, Okaeri is surprising
Although BL anime have a rather big following, we don’t usually see many of them. There’s often at least one or two per season, but they are nowhere near as omnipotent as battle shounens.
On top of that, even now, when queer representation is improving, there are so many dramatic BL series that will break your heart and make you cry for a couple of nights. And fans are getting tired of that, they want queer romance to be treated the same way as straight romance, and just crave something wholesome.
From what it looks like, Tadaima, Okaeri is going to be exactly like that. A series that will help you relax at the end of a busy day and just enjoy an adorable slice-of-life experience.
Fans are also surprised by the omegaverse element of the series. Fandom people and especially fanfiction-loving shippers are used to associating omegaverse with something sexual, but Tadaima, Okaeri shows how wholesome this setting could actually be.
If we really think about it, omegaverse is actually very well-suited for family-focused series, especially BL ones. And there’s hope that Tadaima, Okaeri will prove it to us soon.
