Thing About Jujutsu Kaisen’s Nobara’s Fate That You Might Have Missed

We know you’re still crying after the last episode of Jujutsu Kaisen. First, the series takes away Nanami, and now Nobara follows suit? Unacceptable! Our disappointment is immeasurable and our day is ruined. But even though this article might sound like a big glass of copium, there are still a couple of strange things that surround her death.

Deceased or unknown?

First of all, might we remind you that her status is not “deceased”, it’s “unknown”. The main principle of all types of shows should be “if you don’t see their corpse, they’re not dead”. Although this doesn’t always work, there’s usually a high chance that this will be the case. You may say that we saw Nobara die and lie motionless on the ground, and you’re right, but leave us a little hope, please.

There’s still a fan opinion that Gege himself might be unsure of whether he wants to “resurrect” Nobara or not, that’s why there hasn't been any further information about her. The anime episode feels like a final goodbye, though, so maybe MAPPA knows something.

She might come back

However, even if she’s dead, it doesn’t mean that she’s fulfilled her purpose. Fans have noticed a peculiar detail. Every important character who died in Jujutsu Kaisen has made some sort of reappearance in the series. They come back to the story either as a flashback, a memory or an image of moral support. It emphasized their importance and showed their impact on other characters. But it hasn’t happened for Nobara. At least not yet.

Nobara is not just a no-name side character that was introduced into the story to get killed off later. So her having a big role even after her death (if she’s really dead) would make a lot of sense. Since the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is not finished yet, and there’s plenty of action to come, fans have a feeling that Nobara will make another appearance in the future to help Yuji deal with his struggles.

There’s also a part of the fandom who prefers staying in denial and thinks that Nobara’s role will not just be encouragement, but a huge plot twist of her actually being alive is coming. Or we can just keep getting drunk on copium and imagine her hiding and moving to a peaceful place to live the rest of her days off-screen without jujutsu and curses.
