JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures is truly bizarre, when it comes to the stands. In case you don’t know or have forgotten, a stand is a physical depiction of a person's life energy, and it possesses inhuman abilities. Stands have appeared in the manga since Stardust Crusaders and there are a lot of them. They are all unique and have different abilities, but we decided to choose 5 most disturbing stands from different parts of JJBA.
5. Tower of Gray (Stardust Crusaders)
It is a giant stag beetle whose abilities are simple: it is very fast, and its secondary jaw is destructive. It has a technique called Tower Needle — a long stinger that comes from its mouth. It can tear the person apart within seconds, and if we combine it with high speed, it can kill anyone, which makes this stand very dangerous and quite scary — a bug which is as big as your hand, and it can kill you within seconds.
4. Jail House Lock (Stone Ocean)
A humanoid stand with a head in the shape of the brain, which makes you never leave the prison. It locks you and your mind, when you try to escape the prison — you can only remember three things and if you manage to learn a fourth one, you’ll forget the first one. This stand can also integrate itself into various surroundings. Walking brain that causes permanent memory loss.
3. Gold Experience Requiem (Vento Aureo)

One of the most powerful stands with terrifying abilities. A golden humanoid stand with lifeless eyes, which can nullify any action and any will — everything that can happen, won’t happen. Moreover, when you lose to Gold Experience Requiem, you are forever stuck in a death loop without any chance to get out.
2. Purple Haze (Vento Aureo)
A humanoid stand with an unstable personality and a disturbing face. Foaming mouth, stitches, crazy eyes — this thing is definitely dangerous. Purple Haze is capable of using a deadly virus, which can affect friends and foes. And there is no cure, because the person affected by this virus rots inside within 30 seconds, which makes this stand almost uncontrollable.
1. Wonder of U (JoJolion)
A sentient stand that disguises itself as a person. If you don’t know its identity, you’ll see an elderly man, but if you do, you’ll see a humanoid with robotic features in a hat over red eyes. This stand is capable of creating illusions on a long range and creating calamities. Wonder of U manipulates the law of calamities, which can be natural and almost harmless. But they can also be abnormally bad — for example, almost dying from the impact of a raindrop. Stand activates its abilities if you look at its back.
Well, that was quite scary — starting from the fast beetle and finishing with a humanoid that can kill you with anything without even being near you. There are a lot more stands which are worth mentioning, but you should see it for yourself in Araki’s works.
