Jujutsu Kaisen manga readers know that anime-only fans are missing out on a lot.
Spoilers Ahead!
The newest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen’s season 2, set to come out on August 31st, will mark the beginning of a new era for both the characters and the viewers. The upcoming arc will throw the unsuspecting audience right into the deep end, only growing more tense as time goes on and culminating in some devastating scenes.
Of course, those of us who read the manga already know that.
Here are some scenes from the manga that we cannot wait to see in the new season:
5. The Sukuna vs. Jogo Fight
Sukuna is one of the strongest characters in the series, so we’re beyond stoked to finally see him have some fun with Jogo and show off some of his moves. Even though we know he’s still holding back a lot, we get a taste of what’s to come further along the plot path.
4. Gojo Meeting Geto…
The first five episodes of Season 2 hit us in the gut with the exploration of Gojo and Geto’s early days at Tokyo Jujutsu High, when the grass was green, the sky was blue, and no one was dead or plotting evil schemes. In the Shibuya Incident arc, Geto makes an unexpected comeback, to the audience’s delight and Gojo’s horror.
3. …and the Reveal of Pseudo-Geto
This is the panel from the arc that manga readers want to see animated the most — the moment when fake Geto takes off his scalp to reveal his brain. Despite the series being rife with violent, gory scenes, the smile on his face is one of the creepiest things we’ve seen in the manga so far.
2. Toji Appearing to Save the Day
The Shibuya arc gives us Toji’s body crawling out of the woodwork to effortlessly annihilate one of the strongest cursed spirits amongst the antagonists, to have a brief emotional scene with his son who doesn’t know that he is his son, and then essentially to off himself. The anime version will no doubt breathe new life into this emotional rollercoaster of a story.
1. Gojo vs. Everyone
The manga has already made it clear to the readers multiple times that Gojo is leagues above his contemporaries as a jujutsu sorcerer, but it’s only in this arc that we get to see him show off his real power, no holds barred. Once Gojo realizes the gravity of the situation he’s in, he doesn’t pull any punches. We cannot wait to see him thin out the enemy lines in what are sure to be some of the most glorious scenes in the upcoming episodes.
The Shibuya Incident arc is widely considered to be the highest point of the series. It’s brutal, intense, and heartbreaking, and we cannot wait to relive it again in the animated form.
