Since the girls didn’t really know each other before, they have no way to stay in contact outside of school. This has to be fixed, so Yori and Himari exchange their phone numbers. And when they do, a QR code appears on Yori’s screen. Himari scans it to add the girl to her contacts, and it’s done: they have each other’s numbers.
The QR code was quite detailed, so fans got an idea: what if they scanned the code, too? And as it turns out, they were not wrong for doing that.
