This series is worth your attention!

Summary:

  • Summer Time Rendering is a 2022 supernatural mystery anime.
  • It’s not very famous, but fans consider it to be one of the best series of last year.
  • Viewers praise Summer Time Rendering for its clever plot and characters as well as an outstanding vibe.

Although there’s a high chance that you’ve never even heard of Summer Time Rendering (Summertime Render), it doesn’t mean that the series is not worth your attention. The original manga was written by Yasuki Tanaka, and the anime adaptation premiered (and finished) last year, 2022.

What is the series about?

Summer Time Rendering follows Shinpei Ajiro, who grew up in a small town with Ushio and her sister before moving to Tokyo. However, the news of Ushio’s death brings him back to his hometown.

She’s said to have drowned, however, Shinpei becomes suspicious when he notices strangle marks around her neck. Strange events begin to occur, and Shinpei has to solve the mystery of his friend’s death and find answers to understand what really happened.

We don’t want to spoil you much of the series but if you’re a fan of mystery solving intelligent protagonists and creepy supernatural things, this will definitely be your cup of tea. The suspense in the series is unmatched, and you can’t really get off the screen until all the mysteries are solved.

The vibe of the series is amazing

Fans praise Summer Time Rendering for its outstanding vibe, saying that it’s something that you don’t often see in other series. You constantly feel the danger due to the series having “shadows” that are basically doppelgangers of people, and don’t really know what will happen next.

The art style and summer aesthetics are also praised by viewers, and Summer Time Rendering manages to be an absolute beauty while being sinister and dangerous. This contrast only adds more excitement to your experience.

The intelligent ambience that the series possesses is extremely attractive. We’ve already mentioned Shinpei’s wits, but fear not, he’s not the only one who can make you go “wow” while watching Summer Time Rendering. Fans especially praise the villains in the anime and say that they’ve never seen anyone this smart. Which might be an exaggeration, of course, but it still says a lot.

Summer Time Rendering is just a one-season anime, and it manages to wrap everything up in just 25 episodes. So the series doesn’t force you to stay committed for 500+ episodes (yes, Naruto and One Piece, we’re looking at you), which is always a great thing.

The only thing fans seem to complain about is the second half of the anime where mystery gives way to action, but they agree that mystery cannot stay unsolved forever, so this turn of events feels quite natural for the series.
