Kiss when???
Summary:
- Fans are dying for the Loid/Yor relationship development.
- Their relationship is progressing rather slowly in the series.
- This will hardly change unless their true identities are revealed.
Spy x Family has been toying with our love for Yor and Loid for a long time now. Straight from the beginning of the series their chemistry has been undeniable, and it only grows more and more with each episode (and movie!).
That’s why there aren’t any doubts anymore: these two are meant to be together, and all the Forgers are slowly moving towards becoming a real family. But when is slow too slow?
Where’s the relationship development?
Well, the development is happening, indeed, and we can’t deny that. We see how Loid and Yor start caring more about each other and how they see each other less as a part of their missions, but more as somebody they care about. But it’s happening at such a slow pace, that we can’t help but wonder why.
Fans have a simple answer: it’s because of all the lies. Loid and Yor both find it difficult to have a full emotional connection because they know that there’s no honesty in their relationship.
They don’t really know the full depth of this dishonesty because they both think that they’re the ones who are lying, and not their partner. But they are well aware that their “marriage” is built on lies.
They both have a secret
They both see each other as hardworking and kind-hearted people, while thinking of themselves as liars with dark secrets. That’s why they’re scared of actually letting this relationship become something bigger.
Loid is afraid that if Yor finds out he’s a spy, she’ll get repulsed by him. And Yor thinks that if Loid were to discover her true assassin identity, he would never want to have anything to do with her. They both think of each other as something that they are themselves not: an honest and caring person. And that’s why they’re so afraid of revealing the truth.
But we know that the truth will only help these two, because if the truth comes out, they will both understand that they had nothing to be worried about. They both have dark secrets. And we believe that realizing that their “husband” or “wife” is not a saint, either, will help them connect even more.
That’s why Loid and Yor’s relationship is meant to progress this slowly until they both reveal their true identities. There might be some more interesting developments, though, but we wouldn’t be hoping for actual romance before the big reveal.
