You wouldn’t want to cross paths with them.
There is a lot of murder in various anime, and especially in action shounens and seinens, that’s for sure. But there are some series where characters go over the top with it and kill so many people that you might lose count. So let’s talk about them and see who you should definitely stay clear of.
- Light
Anime: Death Note (2006)
MyAnimeList score: 8.62
Light seemed like a brilliant student who had no intention of becoming a mass murderer, but the day he found the Death Note changed everything.
He started killing criminals, one by one, and he worked fast. In the first episode of the series, Ryuk was surprised by how many names he saw in the note, and it was just the beginning. The further it went, the more victims there were, and although Light’s kill count is the lowest on our list, fans are still sure that he murdered several hundred thousand people.
- Lelouch
Anime: Code Geass (2006)
MyAnimeList score: 8.70
Lelouch is notorious for his intelligence, master schemes and arrogance. Fans absolutely love him and call him one of the greatest anime characters. But we should never forget that he was never the hero, since his kill count is immense.
There aren’t any official numbers that tell us how many victims met their end because of Lelouch, but fans think it’s millions of people. He killed a few hundred of them in Shinjuku, he dealt with two large armies, he participated in several battles. Death and murder followed Lelouch, so we think there could definitely be millions of victims.
- Eren
Anime: Attack on Titan (2013)
MyAnimeList score: 8.55
Although Eren’s kill count was rather low in the first seasons of the anime, the Final Season changed everything. Eren started the Rumbling, unleashed hundreds of Colossus Titans and made them trample the world, crushing all the people under their feet.
It’s said that Eren murdered about 80% of the human population, and although we don’t really know how many people lived in the world of Attack on Titan, we expect his kill count to be more than a billion people.
- Junko
Anime: Danganronpa: The Animation
MyAnimeList score: 7.20
There was nothing Junko loved more than despair. Whether it was her who was feeling it or whether she inflicted it on other people. She’s exceptionally toxic and dangerous, so there’s no doubt that her kill count is sky-rocketing.
When asked about Junko’s number of kills, fans usually just say “it’s a lot,” but some of them are sure that it’s not just millions of people, she’s killed billions of them. And knowing Junko’s craziness, it might just be true.
- Lilith
Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995)
MyAnimeList score: 8.35
This is probably the character with the highest kill count on our list. An ancient creation and the creator of all humanity sounds like a very dangerous being already, and Lilith knows how to prove it well.
Lilith cast wings of light over the entire Earth, which led to billions of Rei’s clones appearing all over the world. They killed so many people that there’s not enough time in the world to count them all.
