How many of these do you agree with?
Death Note has been around for what seems like forever. And for over 15 years there have been hundreds of discussions, and fans have come up with different opinions.
And today we’d like to discuss the most unpopular ones. So let’s see how many you agree with.
5. The ending was satisfying
We know, Light stans, we know, we loved him, too.
Light is considered one of the best anime characters ever, his intelligence and way of thinking are something outstanding and he’s one of the main reasons why everyone loves Death Note so much. But let’s not forget that he’s a villain. And villains have to lose.
Turning him into a pathetic mess was unfair, but it had to be done to show that such a terrible human being had to be punished.
4. Death Note didn’t corrupt Light
A lot of fans actually think that Light was always like that, he didn’t just become a monster because he found the Death Note, he was already one.
Without the Death Note, Light just didn’t have the means to show his full potential and do everything he did. But we don’t know what his future would have been like, had he never come into possession of the note.
3. Nier and Mello are interesting characters
L’s fans loved him so much that they weren’t ready to accept his death and especially didn’t want anyone else to replace him, and we 100% understand that. Nier and Mello just didn’t have any chances of becoming fan favorite characters after that.
But it doesn’t mean that they’re boring or poorly-written. In fact, there’s a small group of fans who love these two even more than the original L. It’s a brave opinion, but we have to acknowledge and appreciate it.
2. It didn’t get boring after L’s death
The death of L was definitely a turning point in the series, and the change was so major that even though the series has only one season, Death Note will forever be notorious for having two parts: the one before L’s death and the one after it.
But a lot of fans admit that they enjoyed the second part, it was more action-focused and added new characters, but it was just as exciting for them as the first part. And for some, even more exciting.
1. Misa is not annoying
Misa is notorious for being one of the most annoying anime characters ever, and we totally see where this idea stems from, but we highly disagree.
Misa is actually a very well-written character with clear motivation, and believable and sometimes relatable behavior. Of course she seems dumb when Light and L are next to her, everyone would! But she’s also charming, beautiful, resourceful and extremely loyal, and we respect her for that.
