We only have two months until the first Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction movie is released, and naturally can’t help but feel a little bit hyped. Studio Production +h is working on the anime adaptation. The first part is scheduled for March 22, and the second movie will be out on April 19.
Kadode Koyama and Ouran Nakagawa live in Tokyo, where mysterious alien Invaders appeared. A large spaceship is looming over the citizens, engulfing the city skyscape. But not much has changed for the girls, who continue their simple school lives, attending classes, playing with their friends and just having fun.
As they grow up, a bigger understanding comes to the girls: the frightening Invaders aren’t the greatest danger, it is people who are the real monsters.
Main trailer is out
The trailer doesn’t beat around the bush and throws you right into the action and destruction. People are petrified, buildings are crushed, and terrifying aliens leave you with nothing but fear. And that is just the first 7 seconds!
However, the trailer provides an even more frightening contrast: the alarming beginning is followed by wholesome music and our two protagonists being quirky together. We have a feeling that this contrast will become a major thing in the anime itself.
The trailer looks amazing! While the character design is not the most beautiful one, it stays true to the manga, and the quality of animation seems promising for now.
Fans’ reception
Fans are naturally excited about the upcoming movies. Whether they are manga readers or not, this project seems very interesting. Some even say that they have absolutely no idea what to expect from Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction, but they’re still super hyped.
People also call the concept of the movies very intriguing and say that this anime will have a very peculiar take on alien invasion. And judging by the new trailer and the previously released ones, they might be just right.
