Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 Is a Positive Change for the Manga

It’s not a lost case after all.

Chapter 255 spoilers ahead!

Summary:

  • Chapter 255 leaks are out.
  • The chapter is better than the previous one.
  • It’s no longer one-on-one with Sukuna.
  • There’s finally proof that Sukuna is weakened.

It’s still a couple of days until the official release of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255, but the leaks are already here. And it looks like this chapter is a positive development over the last one, so let’s see why.

It’s no longer a 1v1 Sukuna blood bath

A lot of criticism for previous chapters stemmed from the fact that the manga was becoming repetitive. Characters kept going one-on-one with Sukuna, losing and dying, without weakening him much.

Last week’s Chapter 254 finale gave a similar impression: Kusakabe is out, and now it’s Miguel’s turn to be humiliated by the King of Curses. However, it’s not what’s happening this week.

Larue joins Miguel, too, but this is not even where all the surprises end. Yuji and Maki are also back, and all of the characters are attacking Sukuna together. Have they finally realized that they need to come united to win?

Moreover, we finally have proof that Sukuna is indeed getting weaker. His heart is not healing as fast, he’s lost his domain expansion, and his binding vow is not working the same way as before since he’s lost his arm and cannot complete the hand gesture anymore. It also explains how the characters were able to avoid Sukuna’s attacks.

The chapter had great things

It’s Jujutsu Kaisen we’re talking about, so of course, the chapter had great action, but this is not all. There were also some nice jokes, for example Larue telling Miguel that they’ll reunite with Geto in heaven, and Miguel replying that Geto most certainly went to hell after his death.

The chapter also explains Gojo’s death better and shows that Sukuna did have to go all in to fight someone like him. He needed Mahoraga, Megumi’s soul and techniques, and his binding vow to beat Gojo, and this once again proves how powerful he was.

Of course, there are still quite a few complaints about the manga and how things are going there. Sukuna seems too overpowered even now, but Chapter 255 shows at least a sliver of hope that he can be defeated in the end if sorcerers combine their strength.

Manga readers admit that they are more satisfied with Chapter 255 than they were with 254. They feel a lot better going into the next chapter, since now there’s hope for finally having some plot development.
