Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255: Larue, Miguel, and Their Cursed Techniques, Explained

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255: Larue, Miguel, and Their Cursed Techniques, Explained

It’s time to talk about these two.

Chapter 255 spoilers ahead!

Summary:

  • Miguel and Larue have joined the battle against Sukuna.
  • Miguel didn’t want to have anything to do with Sukuna initially.
  • Both cursed techniques are unveiled in the chapter.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 leaks are out, and more characters are joining the battle with Sukuna. The previous chapter ended with Miguel appearing out of nowhere, and it turns out he brought some friends with him. Or, well, a friend, to be precise, Larue.

Miguel and Larue were both Geto’s commanders and appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. There hasn’t been much of them since then, so manga readers are (pleasantly?) surprised by the latest chapters.

Why have they joined the battle?

Chapter 255 provides more details about Miguel and Larue. They were both with Yuta during his training, when the sorcerer asked Miguel to fight Sukuna. Miguel was doubtful at first, since he wanted nothing to do with this conflict, but Larue managed to persuade him.

Larue mentions that they both have to remember Geto and fight for his sake to reunite with him in heaven. Miguel then jokes that Geto definitely went to hell, but it still works and he agrees to fight Sukuna in case Gojo and Yuta lose to him.

Cursed techniques

Both Miguel and Larue’s cursed techniques were a mystery before, but Chapter 255 provides a couple of details about them.

Larue’s technique is called Heart Catch, and it allows him to grab an opponent with an imaginary hand. This hand will restore itself in case it’s destroyed, but one-tenth of the damage will be dealt to Larue himself. The curse user manages to grab Sukuna with this technique and send him flying.

Miguel’s technique is called Hakuna Lana, but the chapter leaker mentions that the translation might be inaccurate for now, so we’re still waiting for the official release of the chapter to get more information.

His technique allows him to dodge attacks by catching the right body rhythm and enhance his physical abilities. Miguel doesn’t need to use a domain to buff himself and debuff his opponents — he can do it with his technique.

However, Gojo says that Miguel’s technique is not something to be afraid of; it’s his physical strength. A lot of physically weaker sorcerers use a great amount of cursed energy to make their bodies stronger, which is why their techniques are weaker. But Miguel doesn’t need that, since he’s already very athletic.

He has a unique bone and muscle structure, which makes him a great threat when it comes to battle. Miguel can fully focus on using his cursed energy for the fight instead of trying to strengthen his own body.
