Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Are Fans Finally Happy?

Now that we’ve seen more of Season 2, let’s discuss it.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has received a lot of criticism so far. Some fans mention questionable pacing, some are unhappy with animation and especially ghosting, which is a technique created to prevent epilepsy triggers or other visual disorders, and some were really disappointed with the lack of hype the season received back when it just started airing. But it looks like fans are finally satisfied with the anime.

The Shibuya Incident episode is being called a masterful adaptation by some fans. It started off not so perfectly, the part where Yuji fought Ko-Guy wasn’t really met with applause from the audience. Some viewers consider this fight laughable and this scene has become the reason for countless twitter (or X, if you please) threads with the main question being “what the hell was that?” This is also where all the ghosting debate is coming from. However, the ending part of the episode, as fans say, makes up for all of that.

Yuji’s fight with the grasshopper curse might be a very smart decision by MAPPA. The idea is that the scene was deliberately trying to catch the fans off guard to set the stage for what comes next. And that is an epic Gojo fight!

One of the first things fans mention, when they’re talking about this episode, is how thrilled they were to hear the adult Gojo’s voice. Despite being voiced by the same actor, Yuichi Nakamura, they say adult Gojo just hits different since the actor changes his acting style a bit. Gojo’s voice is not the only thing about him that got the fans hyped: him taking his blindfold off, saying a badass line and preparing for the fight has never left anyone uncaring. It sends shivers down your spine and makes you excited for the upcoming battle.

Fans also love the suspense that is built by Geto and Jogo’s conversation. The anime altered this manga part a little bit since in the original source the conversation was shown all together, but unfolding it in parts added even more anticipation.

The animation of the last part of the Shibuya Incident episode and the one after that has also got a lot of praise by the fans. They say the action looks phenomenal and it keeps you on the edge of your seat even if you’re a manga reader and you know what’s about to happen.

Looks like fans are finally excited about the series and can’t wait to see new episodes, and manga readers promise that it’ll all be worth it.
