Jujutsu Kaisen’s Gojo Storyline in Anime Will Be Even Worse Than in the Manga

For how many episodes will we see him anyway?

Major Jujutsu Kaisen manga spoilers ahead!

Summary:

  • Gojo’s death is one of the most unsatisfying things in the manga.
  • He died 15 chapters after he was unsealed.
  • There will be even less time between his unsealment and death in the anime.

Gojo’s fate has to be one of the most unsatisfying things in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. He was practically killed offscreen after one of the most heated battles of the series: the one between him and Sukuna.

Why was it unsatisfying?

First off, that “killed offscreen” comment. One chapter he seems to be victorious, and the next one we see him (well, half of him) lying on the ground, motionless, dead and defeated. But this is not even the worst thing about his death.

Manga readers felt like there wasn’t enough of him between the moment he was unsealed and the moment he died. On top of that, he didn’t even do much during that time, while fans craved some interactions with students and just more insight into his character.

Moreover, his death didn’t mean a lot for the story, and some fans perceived it as a mere shock factor and were really unsatisfied with how his death was executed.

The anime will make it worse

Gojo was unsealed in Chapter 221 of the manga, and killed in Chapter 236, this means there were 15 chapters between these two events. In the story, months passed in those chapters, and this only makes fans more disappointed that they didn’t see enough of Gojo during this time.

Manga readers predict that the anime will take around 4-5 episodes to adapt this part of the story, which means that anime-onlys will have only a month to celebrate Gojo’s comeback. Until their hearts get absolutely destroyed.

And this is what’s so upsetting for the fans. They think it will be even worse for the anime-onlys than for the manga readers because of the lack of time.

That’s why they hope that the anime adaptation will include some extra scenes that were not in the manga to move Gojo’s death a bit further and give viewers some time to welcome him back.

Otherwise it would be extremely strange for fans: they will have experienced the Culling Game, the sole purpose of which was to unseal Gojo. And then, a couple of episodes later, Gojo will just die. Imagine their dissatisfaction and even anger! And manga readers thought that they had it worse, huh
