Trying to figure out what exactly is the plot of the show is hard.
Summary:
- Light novels were sometimes right in their naming rules.
- Serious short summaries can be fun.
- Funny short summaries can be enlightening.
Remember these light novels that have the whole summary in their names? We've talked about this, and there's a reason for that: it's easier for the reader to find things that will suit their taste. So sometime ago Reddit decided to play a little game and create these LN-like titles for some anime shows. Now, however, the Redditors are engaged in a different game: they're thinking up really short summaries for the series they love. And it's extremely entertaining.
Straight to the point
Now, Monster can be described as "Doctor saves the wrong life and absolutely regrets it". Consistent with the modern D&D trend that has been enriched by the release of Baldur's Gate 3 is Frieren: Beyond The Journey's End (Sousou no Frieren), which is described as "D&D but after the adventure is over".
Death Parade gets somber and philosophical: "A human life's worth cannot always be easily judged". Then again, that's what the show is about. Current hit romance series My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) can be summed up as "Arranged marriage meets shonen". Steins;Gate technically can be summed up to "Microwaving a banana has unintended consequences", and that makes it far more mysterious than the official summary.
Emphasis on the "fun" part
From the other, more hilarious side, comes "Boy magically steals underwear and swings it around overhead", which is the summary for KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!). "Vampires. Toothbrush. Donuts" is used to describe Monogatari series, although just the "Toothbrush" would suffice, considering the huge impact this scene had on the anime community back when it was released.
Noragami boils down to "Girl spends 5 yen to fix her new tail problem". Code Geass had two short summaries, both valid yet absolutely different in nature: "Guy uses magic eyes and meccas to overthrow Britain" and "The most elaborate Pizza Hut commercial possible". On a lighter note, "Two Genius Tsunderes make absolute fools out of themselves" is a perfect description for Kaguya-sama: Love Is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai).
Can you describe your favorite series in less than ten words?
