The series is getting more and more interesting.
Summary:
- Metallic Rouge is an original series, so there’s no manga to learn the story from.
- Episode 2 has just been released.
- It’s even better than the first one, and more fans are getting into it.
Metallic Rouge is still quite a mystery to fans because it’s an original anime, and there are no manga readers that will spoil all the important moments to you in every corner of the internet. But this is what makes it more appealing.
The unknown has its charm, of course, but it also means that viewers are meant to be cautious at first. This is exactly how it was with Metallic Rouge. Episode 1 was rather impressive, but it wasn’t enough to fully understand where the story is going and if it’s worth your time.
Episode 2 is still not enough to be screaming “best 2024 anime”, but it gives us much more perspective on what to expect from Metallic Rouge. And it’s looking good!
Great lore
Metallic Rouge is a wonderful example of great worldbuilding. There aren’t intricate mechanics thrown at you from the beginning, the world takes its time to explain the rules and give you just the right amount of hints about what’s going on.
There are humans, there are androids, and the latter are incapable of hurting the former, as we’ve learned from Episode 2. And yet we remember Episode 1, when an android did hurt humans, so we can understand that there are exceptions.
There’s also just the right amount of mystery in the series. Not to a point that you wouldn’t understand anything, but enough to keep you interested. We don’t know who Rouge truly is and why she’s different from other androids, but we can’t wait to find out.
Compelling characters
We’ve already talked about Rouge and Naomi, but Episode 2 makes us wanna do it again, because the more we see of the girls, the more we like them.
Rouge and Naomi are, no doubts, the stars of the show. They have this very curious dynamic going on, and while Rouge initially looked like an emotionless android, we see that she’s not void of humor, either. The jokes and banter between these two girls never miss.
But Rouge and Naomi are not the only characters worth our attention. Although Episode 2 didn’t bring us someone like Sarah from the first episode, it introduced a couple of new faces, each of them having something curious about them.
If some fans were still unsure whether they should keep watching Metallic Rouge after Episode 1, the second episode made the decision for them: the series is a must-see.
