We know there’s a movie coming about her, but who is she really?

If this is not your first day in the Chainsaw Man fandom (or, let’s be honest, even if it is), then you already know that there’s a character named Reze in the series.
However, if you’re an anime-only, you have no idea who she is and why fans seem to love her so much. So we have an answer for you, and we’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum.
The Reze Arc movie was announced a few months ago, in December 2023, so if you don’t want to read the manga and prefer to experience stories in the anime format, you’ll have the chance to do so soon. But what are some things you need to know about her?
The Bomb Girl
Reze is a new character who is introduced in the Bomb Girl arc of the manga, and as you may understand from the name of the arc, she’s not just a simple harmless girl.
Reze is a Bomb Devil hybrid sent to Japan by the Soviet Union and Denji’s love interest in the arc. Yes, love, you heard it right!
The USSR placed Reze in a special government program aimed at creating special soldiers that would fight for the country. That’s why she knows what discipline and military training are quite well. She became a devil-human hybrid when a part of the Bomb Devil's body was placed inside her.
Denji and Reze met when he decided to hide from the rain in a phone booth. Their first encounter includes Denji giving Reze a flower, and you can see it in the small teaser that was released earlier for the upcoming movie.
It does sound like the beginning of a nice romantic comedy anime, but let’s not forget that this is Chainsaw Man we’re talking about. There will be pain and suffering, but you expect that from a series written by Fujimoto anyway, so it’s no news.
She’s fan-favorite
Fans fell in love with Reze almost the moment she appeared in the manga. She does have a very appealing personality, and her relationship with Denji is extremely engaging. Reze is the kind of character you can’t help but feel for.
It’s been ages since manga readers have seen any sign of Reze, but memes about her coming back any second appear all over various subreddits after each chapter of the manga.
She’s made such a big impression on fans that they just want to learn more about her. And who knows, maybe one day they will.
