We didn’t expect another delinquent anime to be this good.
Summary:
- Two episodes of Wind Breaker have aired.
- The quality of the series is surprising.
- Fans didn’t expect the series to be this good.
Wind Breaker keeps airing, and Episode 2 came out on April 12, 2024. The series follows Haruka Sakura, who enrolls in a new school full of delinquents. All he wants is to fight his way to the top, and he’s interested in only the strongest of fighters.
Great Quality
Episode 1 was already impressive: the fights were executed masterfully, the direction was great, the humor was on point, and no matter how much Haruka tries to be a despised loner, fans found him very likable.
But the first episode focused on action and fights highly, and it’s understandable: it’s the best way to catch the viewers’ attention. However, Episode 2 shows us that there will be other things in the series, too.
We can’t ignore the Wind Breaker humor. Introducing Nirei into the series was a great choice. He’s giving off strong Demon Slayer’s Zenitsu vibes, but is less loud, so there’s a chance he won’t be that annoying.
Nirei also gives us hope for the beginning of a new bromance. Haruka and Nirei look like polar opposites, and we know that this is exactly the combination that works so well in many series.
It’s Surprisingly Good
Moreover, Wind Breaker feels like the type of show that will explore the topic of comradery and the importance of community. Haruka used to be a loner, but he can’t survive by himself at the new school. It’s obvious he has to make friends and perhaps even enemies.
Wind Breaker gives you one important thing: balance. It has great fights and action, while paying attention to its characters. Some of them have been on the screen for a mere moment, but we can’t wait to learn more about them already. Yes, Hayato, we’re looking at you.
Character design and art style of Wind Breaker is another thing worth mentioning, since the anime is just very appealing to look at. CloverWorks did it again, but we didn’t expect anything less.
Overall, Wind Breaker is a very surprising series this season. Fans thought they’d see just a couple of cool fights and little to no depth from the show, but it turns out it’s a very enjoyable anime.
Viewers admit that they never expected it to enter their “Top Shows of the Season” list, but judging by the first episodes, it might do just that.
