There are thousands of isekai titles out there, but this project is a real gem among them all.

The second part of the second season of the anime Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation dropped this spring.

The original source of the same name has been called the grandfather of modern isekai, as many of the genre's clichés were formed there, and two companies, White Fox and Egg Firm, founded Studio Bind in 2018 specifically for its adaptation.

The second season ended in July, so we'll tell you why it's worth watching both chapters of Rudeus' adventures.

1. Smooth Immersion into the Story

The main character is a 34-year-old loser. When he is kicked out of his rented apartment, he wanders the streets and stumbles upon a group of teenagers who are being threatened by the strongest character in the anime world that has ruined many lives – a speeding truck.

The man decides to save the kids, but gets hit by the vehicle, and when he opens his eyes, discovers that he is trapped in the body of a baby.

The man died and was reborn in another world, where he was given the name Rudeus. However, he retained his personality from previous life. From this moment on, the viewer is gradually immersed in the plot, watching the character literally from the cradle. He learns to crawl, walk and talk, and also learns about the fantasy world around him.

2. Interesting and Versatile Characters

First and foremost, Jobless Reincarnation is Rudeus' story, so most of the attention is focused on him. It's interesting to watch the character, as he turns out to be a very ambiguous one. On the one hand, Rudeus is a kid who is considered too smart for his age, and on the other hand, he's a grown man with a lot of psychological problems.

The secondary characters also have different, well thought-out personalities, so it's no less interesting to follow them. The starting point for their development is often a meeting with Rudeus, who helps everyone around him to see the world from a different perspective.

3. Deep and Philosophical Questions

Behind the comedic veneer, the creators hid very relevant and acute social issues. They try to talk to the viewer about bullying, slavery, poaching and psychological problems.

Rudeus is constantly thinking about his past life and missed opportunities, trying with all his might to make the most of the second chance given to him by fate. Jobless Reincarnation is a perfect example of how important it is to confront your fears and strive to be better.

4. Perfect Balance of Different Genres

As we found out, Jobless Reincarnation is a complex and not-so-simple title. Besides, it combines a whole bunch of genres. There is adventure, fantasy, drama, comedy, romance and everyday life.

All this is perfectly balanced and does not let you get bored.
