5 Great Anime That Feature Historical Figures

Hm, we’ve heard these names before.

It’s always nice to hear something familiar in anime, and some series just love featuring real life people. It’s not even the people themselves sometimes, but their names, but it can still be quite interesting.

So let’s look at some anime like that.

1. Bungo Stray Dogs

You’ll find the names of all types of writers among this series’ characters. Japanese (Osamu Dazai, Atsushi Nakajima, Doppo Kunikida), French (Paul Verlaine), American (Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, Edgar Allan Poe), Russian (Fyodor Dostoevsky, Alexander Pushkin), and English (Agatha Christie) ones.

Basically, if there’s a world famous author, there’s a good chance you’ll find a character with that name in Bungou Stray Dogs.

3. Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji)

They are Oda Nobunaga who was a Japanese feudal lord and influential figure; Jeanne Kaguya d'Arc, which sounds like Joan of Arc, who is a patron saint of France and a world-famous feminism icon; and Leonardo da Vinci, an Italian, who could do it all ― he was a painter, an engineer, a scientist, an architect and much more.
