With all these titles, October doesn't seem so gray and depressing.
This fall is generous with quality releases. Among them are a wild story about ghosts and aliens, romance in a sports club, and the continuation of a series about a game in virtual reality.
We have chosen the most interesting anime series worth watching this month.
1. Ranma ½, 2024
While traveling through China, Genma and his son Ranma fall under the influence of an ancient curse. As soon as they touch cold water, one of them turns into a panda and the other into a girl.
Nevertheless, they visit the owner of a martial arts school, Soun Tendo, a friend of Genma. A long time ago, the friends agreed that Ranma would marry one of Tendo's three daughters. Which of the girls will be the best wife? And what will Ranma do with his curse?
This is a remake of the 1989 anime and an adaptation of one of the best-selling manga in the world. Despite the fact that the story is more than 30 years old, it has been well preserved. Ranma wants to get rid of the curse, but gets distracted by love affairs, everyday problems and carefree pastimes.
2. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, 2024
15th century, Europe. Talented teenager Rafal is interested in theology. But one day he meets a mysterious man. He introduces Rafal to what science and stargazing can tell us about the world around us. But such ideas can lead to being burned at the stake.
The original manga tells the story of the development of heliocentric theory in medieval Europe. It should not be taken as a textbook, as it contains many artistic assumptions and exaggerations. Nevertheless, it is an excellent introduction to the ideas about science and religion that prevailed just 500 years ago.
3. Shangri-La Frontier Season 2, 2023-2024
In the near future, the video game industry consists mainly of virtual reality projects. A high school student named Rakuro is an avid fan of the worst games. But one day he decides to try the popular video game Shangri-La Frontier. And it turns out that it is not as easy as it seems at first glance.
Last year's first season surprised with its eventfulness, well-thought-out world and high-quality action. The second season is produced by the same studio – C2C, and the same director – Toshiyuki Kubooka. If you like video games or are a fan of isekai – Shangri-La Frontier is definitely worth your attention.
4. Dandadan, 2024-...
High school girl Momo believes in ghosts because her grandmother is a medium. Lonely guy Ken believes in the existence of UFOs because he spent his childhood hoping that at least aliens would become his friends. It turns out that both are right.
The anime will have a lot of action, humor on the edge, absurdity and madness. If you like new generation shonen, such as Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen, then Dandadan is the series for you.
5. Blue Box, 2024
Taiki attends a sports-oriented school and plays badminton. Every morning, Taiki gets up early to practice in the gym. But there is another reason for his early rise. He rushes to the school to meet Chinatsu, a popular basketball player whom he has a crush on.
Kouji Miura's original manga is one of the most remarkable romance stories of recent years. In 2021, it won the Global Prize at the Next Manga Award, and in 2022, it was ranked fourth on the list of most recommended manga in bookstores.
