Romantic Killer is, in essence, a parody of otome game romances. The anime puts the protagonist, Anzu, into many cliché and outright stupid situations. Anzu, being an avid otome game fan, doesn’t actually want it.
Despite otome games being a somewhat niche subject, you don’t actually need to be familiar with them to enjoy the comedy. The anime is light-hearted and funny, and can be enjoyed by pretty much anyone.
Kengan Ashura is basically one giant tournament arc, showcasing many different characters with different styles of martial arts. It’s great if you want to see something with a lot of fights that are different every time.
Despite the anime being made in 3D CGI, it’s actually quite pleasant to look at once you get used to it. CGI highlights many different fighting styles in the series and allows for more dynamic camera works. Another thing that fans love about it is the different intro themes for the characters — they are all awesome.

If you want something more serious, you can try Ōoku: The Inner Chambers (Oooku). In a world where most men died from an unknown disease, Ōoku is a down-to-earth drama which explores the many social issues that are affecting women. Despite it being set in the Edo period, the topics the anime covers are surprisingly relevant.
Last Hope
Last Hope (Juushinki Pandora) is a perfect example of a series that can’t be described before you watch it — just because of how many things are going on. It’s a post-apocalyptic mecha series that deals with themes of evolution, the ever-thinning line between humans and robots, and morals of biological warfare.
Despite being incredibly convoluted, the anime somehow works — although it takes a lot of time to get used to its craziness. Perhaps that’s the reason it wasn’t popular with seasonal viewers, as some anime are just better when binged.
Rilakkuma and Kaoru
Rilakkuma and Kaoru (Rilakkuma to Kaoru-san) isn’t similar to most people’s definitions of anime. It’s a puppet animation about the daily life of a woman and a toy bear.
Despite being initially made for kids, Rilakkuma and Kaoru turned out to have a decent number of adult fans due to its relaxing nature. The episodes are short, and the anime is perfect to get all the troubles off your mind.
