Despite being great, Undead Unluck is outshone by bigger releases.
That’s why fans are worried that there won’t be Season 2.
There’s still hope that the situation will change in the second cour of Undead Unluck.
Undead Unluck started airing in October 2023, and while Season 1 is still ongoing and is only half through, fans are already asking the important question “Is there going to be a Season 2?” And, to be honest, we would also like to know that.
Undead Unluck’s quality is incredibly high
If there were any worries or doubts about the quality of the anime adaptation back when it was announced and later when it was teased, after the series had started airing, they evaporated. The anime looks and feels incredible. David Production has truly put their souls into the project, and we can feel it.
The animation is awesome, the visuals are stunning, and the whole thing does the manga justice and stays true to the original source. It all made fans extremely happy. But what is the issue, then?
The point is that Undead Unluck hasn’t been receiving much hype. Yes, a lot of people know it’s somewhere there, and have heard of its existence, but due to the anime airing alongside such projects as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 or Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Sousou no Frieren), the series feels outshone. That’s why a new set of fandom’s worries has surfaced: will the series get a sequel?
Still not hyped as much
There hasn’t been any boost in manga sales, and the anime community seems quite indifferent to Undead Unluck, that’s why the situation is upsetting. Fans previously mentioned that the series being streamed on Hulu was never a good release strategy, that’s why they got so excited about the news of it being on Disney+. But it’s been almost two weeks now, and the situation doesn’t seem to change much.
But the hope is still strong in the fandom. It’s fairly obvious that the David Production studio is very passionate about the series, so if Undead Unluck does decently, there’s a chance that Season 2 will come.
The second cour of Undead Unluck is about to begin, and fans place their bets on it. They say it could really get a lot of attention due to the story getting really good in it. On top of that, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is about to end, so people will be looking for something new to watch.
The Disney streaming platforms can still help with the popularity of the series. So if everything works well, we will definitely see the second season of Undead Unluck. We would really love to see this happen because this has been an incredible journey, and we don’t want it to end any time soon.
We would really love to see more of the series.
