The new trailer focused on Public School prefects.
Fans are upset that there's no Sebastian in the trailer.
We've been asking for updates for months and we've finally been heard! Black Butler: Public School Edition (Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen) reveals a new trailer and more information.
What do we know about the adaptation?
Season 4 will adapt the Public School Arc of the Black Butler manga, which is 19 chapters long and follows the Luxury Liner Arc that was previously adapted in the Book of the Atlantic movie. The number of episodes is yet to be revealed, but judging from the number of chapters, it will hardly be higher than 12.
It was previously revealed that the new season would premiere somewhere in April, and the new trailer proves it: Black Butler Public School Arc is scheduled for April 13, 2024.
A-1 Pictures used to adapt the series, but the new season is in the works by CloverWorks. It's difficult to say whether it's a good thing or not for now, but fans are not particularly happy by the way everything looks so far. Let's hope the April premiere will change that.
Back when the first teaser was revealed, Green Lion's prefect, Herman Greenhill, reminded us of Harry Potter's Draco a lot, but the new trailer evokes another simile: Erwin Smith, is that you? There's just something in the way he looks and speaks.
The most interesting prefect for now seems to be Scarlet Fox's one, Edgar Redmond, who gives us strong Undertaker vibes with his cunning look and sweet voice.
It's difficult to say anything about the rest of the prefects for now, but we have a feeling that Gregory Violet will be the most mysterious out of them all.
But we all know that the prefects are not exactly the thing we wanted to see in the trailer the most, it's our beloved Ciel and Sebastian. And if the first one was very present in the trailer and made us smile a couple of times, there was no sign of our favorite demon butler.
We have a feeling that it was done intentionally to build up suspense and leave fans wanting more, but we can't help but feel a bit disappointed because of that.
