The Anime
Dandadan the anime will air in 2024. It will be produced by Science SARU, a choice that fans are very happy about. They feel like the experience of working on previous titles of the studio, including Devilman Crybaby and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, will help in the production of Dandadan.
Fuga Yamashiro is going to be a series director for the first time, but he worked as episode director (The Heike Story Episode 10; Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Episodes 4, 10). Kensuke Ushio is responsible for Dandadan’s music (Devilman Crybaby, Chainsaw Man). Series composition is going to be done by Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man).
The cast will be announced this December. In the meantime, fans are impatient to hear the OST by Kensuke Ushio and have faith in the rest of the crew as well.
Promotional Materials and Fan Reactions
The visual looks appropriately scary, and the video makes the anime feel action-packed. That might be because of the very fast-paced music, but there is also some violence. Fans claim that the animation is gorgeous, and they love the promotional video, regardless of whether they are newbies to the title or have read the manga. Manga readers assure us that Dandadan is a great source material, and with the current crew, they are sure that the anime will turn out great!
Some fans are very happy about the anime not getting into MAPPA’s hands. With how controversial MAPPA became in the past few years, it is not surprising.
Let’s hope that Science SARU manages to deliver a great adaptation of the Dandadan story!
