One of the most impressive anime titles in the fantasy genre is about to come to an end.

In 2023, the third season of the anime series Dr. Stone was released – the story of how a mysterious outbreak caused humanity to turn to stone for nearly 4,000 years.

The anime from TMS Entertainment Studio started in 2019 – and has already become a hit both in Japan and around the world, and last year a special episode Ryusui was released, telling the story of a genius millionaire sailor.

Dr. Stone Final Season Release Date

The wait for new episodes of the fantasy anime will end next year. The fourth season, titled Dr. Stone: Science Future, will premiere in 2025. The upcoming season will be the final one and will be released in three parts.

The TMS Entertainment studio continues to work on the series. The anime is based on the manga by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi, which was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and collected in 26 volumes.

What is Dr. Stone About?

High school student Taiju is a tough guy who loves to work. For several years, he has been working up the courage to confess his love to his friend Yuzuriha, but just as she takes off her headphones to listen to his monologue, a green flash appears in the sky.

At that moment, all of humanity turned into stone statues. After 3,700 years, Senku, Taiju's best friend, awakens from his stone slumber. He is Taiju's complete opposite – a reserved technical genius used to the fact that every question has an answer.

Thanks to the fact that Senku did not fall into oblivion, but counted the seconds all the time, he knows that he woke up on October 5, 5738. Six months later, he managed to figure out how to get rid of the stone shell – and he saved Taiju, then Yuzuriha, and Tsukasa, a teenager who was a star of Ultimate Fighting before turning into a stone statue.

Senku's goal is to restore civilization with his boundless scientific knowledge. But Tsukasa sees it differently: he believes that the new world should belong to the young, and that the older generations will once again start fighting and competing for resources, depriving the youth of a future.
