It explores the world where people coexist with artificial humans.
The main trailer has been released.
Metallic Rouge is an upcoming original anime series produced by Bones (Bungo Stray Dogs, My Hero Academia) for the studio's 25th anniversary. We previously discussed a visual and a teaser for the series here, and now more news is out. The premiere is scheduled for January 11, 2024, which leaves us with only three weeks of waiting before we can experience the new adventure.
Metallic Rouge explores the world where real humans coexist with artificial ones called Neans. They can’t harm humans and have to follow their orders. And no, this is not the premise of Pluto. Rouge is one of these androids and she’s tasked by the government with a certain mission to Mars. And her buddy, Naomi, is there to join her.
The mission is to murder nine artificial humans who are hostile to the government and possess the latent potential to surpass humanity, and we can’t wait to see if the stunning girls succeed.
Main trailer is out
A new trailer for Metallic Rouge has been revealed, and it provides another glimpse of what the series will look like. We know everyone has already noticed it, but we can’t help but mention the stunning character design of the two main protagonists. The girls are incredible! Fans mention Rouge looking a bit generic, but Naomi looks like she’s going to steal the show.
Nothing we’ve never seen before
The trailer seems good, but fans think that it’s nothing extraordinary. For now, the story feels a bit cliché and sounds like something we’ve seen countless times before in various types of media. Take, for example, the aforementioned Pluto or the video game Detroit: Become Human. The trope of artificial intelligence trying to coexist with humans is not the freshest one, but there’s always hope that Metallic Rouge will take a new approach to this topic.
Aside from the story, the trailer brings nothing to worry about. The animation is great, Neans, machines and action are all satisfying to look at. The soundtrack is also quite pleasant, and judging from the trailer, the characters will have a hilariously interesting dynamic. Fans have already started shipping them, of course (no judgment here).
So we’ll be here waiting for the January premiere to see if Metallic Rouge will become one of the anime that are worthy of being mentioned in various “best 2024 anime” tops at the end of next year.
Sci-fi series with charming girls, what more do you want?
