New seasons of already beloved titles and completely fresh stories.

The next year in anime will be rich with high-profile sequels and finales, but it won't be without intriguing new stories. We've rounded up some of the titles you won't want to miss in 2025.

1. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2

Release Date: January 10, 2025

The kidnapped 17-year-old girl worked hard at the Imperial Court until she learned that the Emperor's children were afflicted with an illness, which she helped to cure using her knowledge and experience in pharmaceuticals.

The girl's talent and intervention did not go unnoticed, and she soon entered the emperor's inner circle, where she made a real splash.

In the fall of 2023, the first season of The Apothecary Diaries was one of the favorites among the viewers, losing in the ratings only to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.

2. Medalist

Release Date: January 5, 2025

The main character is a man who has not achieved success in solo figure skating, because it was only in middle school that he realized that his dream was to become a figure skater.

One day he meets a girl whom even her own family does not believe in, and decides to support her on her way to the championship because he sees himself in her.

The manga of the same name by Tsurumaikada, on which the series is based, was very well received by readers and won awards. Presumably, the adaptation will try to keep up with the standards set by the original source, and viewers will get a new good spokon for fans of Yuri on Ice.

3. Solo Leveling Season 2

Release Date: January 2025

Gates open in Japan and all kinds of creatures crawl into the world, which are fought by hunters of different ranks. The main character is the weakest of all the hunters. During another raid he sacrifices himself, but a certain System decides to give him a second chance and allows him to level up.

This is the continuation of the most hyped title of this winter. The first season was good, but introductory, so the studio A-1 Pictures, without making us wait long, decided to release the second season exactly one year later, which we are very happy about.

4. Lazarus

Release Date: 2025

The year is 2052 and Dr. Skinner has created a cure for all diseases. However, three years after using it, the patients will die. Therefore, a special unit called Lazarus has to find Skinner to prevent a catastrophe.

The name of the director rarely plays a big role in the anime series industry, but Shinichiro Watanabe, the director of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, is definitely an exception to the rule, so we can only expect Lazarus because of him.

In addition, the director of all parts of John Wick Chad Stahelski is responsible for the staging of the action scenes, and all this under the roof of the popular studio MAPPA.

5. Sakamoto Days

Release Date: January 11, 2025

Sakamoto was once an unrivaled killer, admired and feared, but one day he fell in love, retired, started a family and got fat. But, as is often the case, people like that cannot let go of their own past, and the salesman must protect the family from danger.

It is an ambitious, action-packed comedy starting this winter. The first season will have 22 episodes, and it will be divided into two parts of 11 episodes, and both can be seen in 2025, because the second part will hit the screens in July.
