Solo Leveling Sequel Was Highly Expected, but Fans Are Still Hyped

Leakers say there’s more to come.

Summary:

  • Solo Leveling will get a Season 2, titled “Arise from the Shadow.”
  • Fans are excited to get more content.
  • Leakers say the anime will have 6 cours total.

With how popular Solo Leveling (Ore dake Level Up na Ken) has been, getting a sequel at some point was more or less expected. Still, fans were unsure if it was going to be announced right after the first season.

Well, it turns out that it was. Right after the anime ended, it was followed with an announcement of the second season. The sequel is titled “Arise from the Shadow,” and is going to adapt the manhwa further.

There wasn’t enough of the anime

A major criticism of the Solo Leveling adaptation has been it simply not having enough content. After all, it took about half of the first season for the anime to get to the action in the first place. For a series that is largely regarded for being a power fantasy, it took a bit too much time to actually get to the point.

A second season is, of course, very welcome. It’s supposed to adapt the more hyped parts of the manhwa, as the ones we’ve got so far were pretty tame — for the reputation the series gets, at least.

Leakers say it’s scheduled for 6 cours

We currently don’t have any knowledge on when the second season will air, and no other information was revealed — making the status of the production largely a speculation. Still, fans are excited for this sequel — and they have a good reason to be.

According to a yet unconfirmed leak, the anime is actually planned not for two cours, but for six. While we don’t know the exact format in which they’re going to air — if the leak is true in the first place — this kind of adaptation makes fans very happy.

After all, some of the most hyped parts of Solo Leveling come later on — and with the first season adapting 45 chapters out of roughly 200, we might as well get a full adaptation. While it will probably take quite some time to come out, fans will gladly wait to see it all.

The animation, too, has been improving over the first season — and it is suggested that it will improve in future ones as well.

That said, not all fans are super optimistic about the series getting a full adaptation. Apparently, the last stretch of chapters is disappointing — nothing new for action series. Regardless, having them in anime form won’t hurt anything, and if the leak is true, then Solo Leveling fans will finally get the anime they always wanted.
