Ep. 7 makes it clear that Doroka and Adonis will travel together. The problem is their worldviews are different.
Some fans believe that both characters are caricatures of their views on violence.
Based on Ep.7, we can expect them to affect each other eventually. After all, Adonis doesn’t kill the bikers who helped them in the desert.
Doroka is probably in love with Adonis. Otherwise, it’s not clear why she would follow him.
An Unlikely Team
Looking at Doroka and Adonis, don’t you think they are a strange team? They are complete opposites to the point of both looking like caricatures of a pacifist and a genocidal, revenge-seeking protagonist.
Of course, it’s possible for two extremes to meet in the middle, but it would be difficult for Doroka and Adonis. Doroka is afraid of any violence at all, and Adonis was willing to wreak havoc on the capital. It’s not too far of a reach to assume that he killed people of all ages. He didn’t do it while looking them in the face, but he is responsible for a lot of deaths.
Will Adonis Change?
A simple solution for the team to actually work is for Adonis to change. It would also be good if Doroka stopped being a caricature, but based on Episode 7, it seems like Adonis is the one who will have something of an arc.
It is already starting! Adonis didnэt kill the bikers despite claiming he wanted to kill all humans. He says the bikers are sub-human and therefore not his enemy. But it still shows that he is willing to let people live, especially if they are refugees from Redia or other countries that were attacked by Redia. He can see nuance and find a way not to kill innocents.
On top of that, the ending of the episode shows him almost smiling as he looks at Doroka riding a motorcycle. The music swells, and there is no cliffhanger ending, so the episode is trying to tell us something. It looks like Doroka is already changing Adonis.
Why, Doroka, why?
If only someone could explain why Doroka wants to go with him! He brought humans to the witches’ hideaway literally yesterday. Doroka would be better off with the bikers! However, if Dorothea is a form of Doroka, we can assume that Doroka is madly in love. Stranger things have been done because of that.
Why pair Doroka and Adonis when they are so different — to the point of being caricatures of a pacifist and an edgy genocidal protagonist?
