Jujutsu Kaisen manga criticism is not something new, it’s not like we invented it, but it’s always interesting to see how fans react to various decisions. And we’d like to talk about some of them today.
Treatment of female characters
The entire Nobara situation seems to have angered a lot of fans. Her death was very unfair, since she had always been among the fan favorites, and, moreover, one of the most interesting female characters in the series. And Jujutsu Kaisen is hardly known for having well-written girls, so losing one of them felt like a slap in the face. Although the manga is still unfinished, fans think that the Shibuya Incident Arc would be something like the middle part of the entire thing. And seeing Nobara leaving us so soon just doesn’t feel right.
On top of that, there’s a new character, Hana, and she generated a couple of more decisions that fans found weird. First of all, it’s how much Jujutsu Kaisen tries to replace Nobara with her. Hana seems to have the same dynamic with Yuji as Nobara did, and fans suggest that she was added just to have another female character like that. But why not bring Nobara back if Gege felt like he needed another girl with a similar personality?
The entire “Sukuna luring Hana in” thing was also quite questionable. Hana felt true affection for Megumi, and when Sukuna came into possession of his body, he set a trap for Hana. And she walked right into it! Fans compare the entire situation to a fake-mustache-and-glasses type of disguise, and say that Hana believing it was laughable.
Sukuna’s plot armor
Everyone understands who Sukuna is and how much power he possesses, but as more and more chapters are revealed, it is starting to feel like he’s got real plot armor. Nothing and no one can defeat him, and while there were high hopes that Gojo was capable of doing so, they were all in vain. Gojo battles Sukuna and dies in such an unsatisfying way. He didn’t even do any long-lasting damage to Sukuna to make him easier to defeat in the future, and this is just sad.
Gojo’s death
This is not the only thing that was annoying about Gojo’s death. He’s one of the fan favorite characters, after all, and the expectations about him were high. And what can we see? He’s sealed for many chapters just to come back for a great fight and die? Unacceptable! Such a character that has been hyped straight from the beginning of the story had to play a bigger role, fans think. His death might have been necessary for his students to get more character development, but the way it was handled is nothing but upsetting.
