This season has brought us a lot of fascinating girls.
We know that the topic of female characters is especially sore in the anime fandom. However, we’ve been having some really great girls lately.
Only last season brought us incredible Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) and Maomao (The Apothecary Diaries), and this season seems to have a terrific girl in every other series as well.
1. Marcille ― Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi)
This charming girl is often compared to Frieren because both of them are elves, both are mages, and both are absolutely stunning.
Marcille is probably the most relatable Dungeon Meshi character, since she’s always the one to “ugh” all of the cooked monsters, and we can imagine having a similar reaction. Moreover, she’s the main source for all the hilarious gags in the series, and just seems like a genuinely nice and caring person.
2. Guideau ― The Witch and the Beast (Majo to Yajuu)
This girl is not as cute as Marcille, but it doesn’t mean that we love her any less.
Guideau is rough, grumpy and angry most of the time. She keeps threatening her partner and attacking every witch she sees on her way. Guideau is very short-tempered and even bratty sometimes, but it’s all just part of her charm, and we’d be lying if we said that it didn’t make us adore her more.
3. Yuki ― A Sign of Affection (Yubisaki to Renren)
Just one look at Yuki might make you fall in love with her already. She’s extremely beautiful, and when you get to know her, you realize that this beauty is not only on the outside: Yuki also has the most wholesome personality.
She is a type of character that fans want to protect at any cost, and they started joking that they would stand by her every decision no matter what after just one episode of the series.
4. Rishe ― 7th Time Loop (Loop 7-kaime)
Rishe is a person we all aspire to be because it seems like there’s nothing she can’t do. Except for cooking, perhaps.
Rishe’s vast experience in her previous lives allows her to be incredibly skilled. She’s a great herbalist, a careful maid, a fearless knight, a clever strategist… And the list goes on. Rishe’s gentleness goes so well with her strong personality, and she just feels out of this world at times.
5. Utena ― Gushing over Magical Girls (Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete)
This weird pervert has also brought us tons of positive emotions this season. She keeps trying to be a good person, but her evil twisted self just wants out every time a couple of magical girls are in front of her. And we love her for that.
Utena is weird and shy at first, but her obsession can show us a different side of her. And this contrast only makes Utena more fascinating.
