All fandoms have their theories, and Jujutsu Kaisen is no exception. Moreover, this fandom might have some of the wildest anime theories out there, and these are exactly the ones we’d like to talk about today.
- Yuji is Sukuna’s finger
We know that Kenjaku possessed the body of Yuji’s mom, Kaori Itadori, and he became pregnant with the boy while living as her. But what if it wasn’t just a simple pregnancy, but a scientific experiment that led to Yuji’s creation?
Kenjaku definitely meddled with Yuji during the pregnancy, but what if Sukuna’s finger was involved in the process?
- Yuji is a reincarnation of a Heian Era sorcerer
Just like the title says, this theory implies that Yuji was reincarnated, but he’s lost his memories in the process. This would explain why he’s so gifted at the use of cursed energy, since if he was already a sorcerer in his previous life, it would come naturally to him.
- Yuji was cursed by his grandfather
One of the interesting Jujutsu Kaisen theories suggests that the last words of a sorcerer can become a curse. We don’t know much about Yuji’s family, but what if his grandpa was a sorcerer, too?
His last words to Yuji were “You’re a strong kid, so help people,” so what if it turned into a curse and now Yuji just has no other options but to help people around him?
- Kenjaku was driving the car that killed Rika
This might be one of the funniest and most insane theories. Of course, we’re not laughing at Rika’s death, but just imagine Kenjaku actually doing that with the most bizarre smile ever.
If we really think about it, this theory might even make a little bit of sense. Kenjaku wasn’t possessing Geto’s body back then, but what if he needed it? And Rika’s death technically led to Geto’s death, too.
- Sukuna’s first finger was meant for Megumi
Of course, now Sukuna has Megumi’s body, so mission complete, but what if that was the plan all along?
Megumi and Yuji were both there at the beginning of the story, and it did look like a mistake that Yuji was the one to eat it. So what if Kenjaku wanted Megumi to swallow the finger instead?
- Tengen is Kenjaku’s wife
Fans have been thinking about Kenjaku secretly working with Tengen for some time now. They knew each other for a long time — Tengen kept secrets about the Culling Game, and she almost got Yuji killed.
And this theory goes even beyond that. What if they weren’t just working together but were a somewhat family unit even?
