Are fans getting a bit tired of isekai?
Summary:
- A Journey Through Another World is an upcoming isekai slice-of-life anime series.
- It’s scheduled for July 2024.
- The premise is rather generic, but fans think they should give the anime a try.
Every good isekai has to have a title that’s so long it’s tiring to read, and A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring (Isekai Yururi Kikou: Kosodateshinagara Boukensha Shimasu) is no exception.
A Journey Through Another World is a light novel series written by Shizuru Minazuki and illustrated by Yamakawa. It was first published in 2016, and the series is still ongoing.
The anime adaptation by EMT Squared Studio (Fluffy Paradise) was announced in November 2023 and is scheduled to premiere in July 2024.
The series follows Takumi who gets killed by accident. The man cannot be reborn, but God wants to apologize and sends him to another world. However, there’s a mistake again, and Takumi finds himself in a forest full of dangerous monsters.
This is where he meets young twins, a boy and a girl, whom he names Alan and Elena. Takumi wants to take care of the kids, but a surprise awaits him: the twins are fairly capable of handling themselves and defeating the monsters with their bare hands.
A bit generic?
We won’t even mention the number of isekai series coming out each season, we all know there’s a lot. Fans feel a little tired of hearing the same premise all over again, and are worried that A Journey Through Another World will be just another one of them.
The main issue with isekai is that fans say they can see what is going to happen in at least 10 first episodes of such anime, and it makes it very challenging for these shows to actually surprise anyone.
It’s still worth a try
However, they are happy about the current trend on family anime. Spy x Family showed us how great they could be, and last year’s Buddy Daddies proved it one more time, so perhaps A Journey Through Another World will also give viewers something they want.
That’s why despite the story looking generic, fans are willing to give it a chance. The first trailer and all the visuals for the series looked simple, but still adorable and humorous, so there’s definitely hope for A Journey Through Another World to be at least somewhat enjoyable.
Readers promise the anime to be rather wholesome, so no worries there won’t be any Bunny Drop situations (if you know, you know). So if you’re looking for a new family series, this might be something you’d like to watch when it comes out
