Anohana team back in action!
Summary:
- Fureru is a new original anime movie scheduled for 2024.
- An official visual and a teaser have been released.
- The story is a mystery, but we expect a coming-of-age movie.
A new original feature-length anime movie has been announced. The creative team of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai) reunites to bring you Fureru. Director Tatsuyuki Nagai, screenwriter Mari Okada, and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka are working on the movie.
There isn’t a particular release date for now, but the movie is scheduled for Fall 2024. Almost a year of waiting, we know, but we hope that this year is going to be filled with more updates and further details.
A visual and a teaser are out
For now, there’s a new visual and a small teaser that provide the first glimpse of the movie. Both include a mysterious hedgehog-like creature and a group of friends. We have no idea what or who this creature is, but just look at how cute it is! Definitely watching for it!
No information followed about the story of the movie, but fans have some thoughts. Knowing the creative team behind this project, it’s fair to say that the genre will be the same as or close to Anohana, which is a coming-of-age anime.
The new visual portrays three people carrying a weird basket (what kind of basket has got three handles, anyway?) with something like a hedgehog inside of it. Might it be a clue that we’re going to have three main protagonists and the strange creature is there to test their friendship or make them closer? They have to carry it together, after all.
The trailer doesn’t unveil the mystery of the story, either. But the overall vibe, the crying characters and the soundtrack, as well as fans’ predictions, say that you’ll have no choice but to suffer while watching. However, it takes much more to make fans scared, so they’re hyped for the upcoming project no matter what.
The announcement has made people excited, because of course! The Anohana movie was rated highly and received a lot of praise from both the fans and the critics, so seeing its creative team back together cannot leave us indifferent. We’ve already added Fureru to our watch list and marked the calendar, so that we won’t forget to buy a couple of tissue boxes next year. And you should do the same.
