Can you believe it’s already been 20 years?
Summary:
- Bleach anime is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
- There will be a Special Event Exhibition in April.
- Fans are hoping to learn the release date of Thousand-Year Blood War.
- There are also other expectations.
The Bleach anime first aired back on October 5, 2004, and the series is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Which means there’s something exciting planned for the fans.
One of these exciting pieces of news is that there will be a Special Event Exhibition starting April 26, 2024 in Yokohama. But this is not the only celebratory project that fans can expect. Any official information is yet to be revealed at a later time. But fans already know what they want to hear.
Thousand-Year Blood War
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is an anime sequel that started airing in October 2022. The second cour aired from July to September 2023, and we know that the third cour is in the works and is scheduled to premiere somewhere in 2024.
That’s why the most obvious expectation is to finally learn the proper release date for the upcoming anime cour. Fans admit that it’s a minor expectation and they would actually love to hear other news, but they don’t want to get disappointed, so they choose to be humble.
Other expectations
There are other ideas, of course, and they seem a bit braver than just the release date reveal. One of the most outrageous, perhaps, is the announcement of the Bleach remake.
The series is truly iconic, but also rather old and long, so a lot of anime newbies don’t really want to get into it. And a remake might be a perfect way for them to experience the series.
There’s also hope that some of the old episodes will get reanimated, which is something that other series did before. However, fans don’t really think that it’ll be possible before Thousand-Year Blood War is over. Still, One Piece had some episodes reanimated and it’s an ongoing series, so here’s hoping.
Another brave expectation is an announcement of a fighting video game. There have been Bleach games before, but fans seem to never be satisfied with them and want a new one. A decent one this time.
Although it’s the anime adaptation that’s celebrating its anniversary, fans still have some expectations about the manga. They think it will feel like a dream come true if Tite Kubo releases a small one-shot or even just a few pages. Which is highly unlikely, but we can dream, huh?
